Well, let me tell ya somethin’ about this fella, Allred, and this whole “trans” thing. Folks been talkin’ ’bout it, and I figured I’d put in my two cents, ya know? Don’t know much about fancy words or politics, but I know what’s right and what ain’t, leastways in my book.
This Allred fella, he’s runnin’ for somethin’ big, Senate I think they call it. And this other fella, Cruz, he’s been sayin’ Allred’s too friendly with them “transgender” folks. Now, I ain’t got nothin’ against nobody, but it seems like a whole lotta fuss over somethin’ I don’t quite understand.
Cruz, he’s puttin’ out these ads, you know, on the TV and such. Sayin’ Allred’s bad ’cause he wants to protect them “LGBTQ” people. Lord, I can barely say them letters! Sounds like alphabet soup to me. But from what I gather, these folks just want to be treated fair, like anyone else. Ain’t that what we all want?
- Allred says he’s for protectin’ these folks. Says they shouldn’t be discriminated against. That sounds right to me. Don’t go around hurtin’ nobody, that’s what I always say.
- Cruz, he’s makin’ it sound like Allred’s doin’ somethin’ wrong. But I don’t see it. If them “trans” folks ain’t hurtin’ nobody, why should we be botherin’ them?
Now, they’re talkin’ about this “Equality Act.” Sounds fancy, huh? But from what I hear, it’s just about makin’ sure everyone’s treated the same, no matter who they are or who they love. Seems simple enough to me. Why’s it gotta be so complicated?
Allred, he made his own ad, fightin’ back against Cruz. Said Cruz is just tryin’ to scare folks. Maybe he is, maybe he ain’t. Hard to tell with these politicians. They’re always talkin’ in circles.
But this whole “trans” thing… it’s got folks all riled up. Some folks are scared, I reckon. Scared of what they don’t understand. And that’s understandable, I guess. But fear ain’t no reason to be mean to folks. Like I said, ain’t nobody hurtin’ nobody, then leave ’em be.
This “trans” business, it’s mostly about them young folks, seems like. Youngsters tryin’ to figure out who they are. We all been there, ain’t we? Maybe not exactly the same way, but we all had to figure ourselves out. And it ain’t easy, let me tell ya.
So, this Allred fella, he’s stickin’ up for them “trans” kids. Sayin’ they deserve to be themselves. And you know what? He’s right. Every kid deserves to be themselves, happy and safe. That’s what matters.
Cruz, he’s makin’ it sound like Allred’s some kinda radical for supportin’ them “trans” folks. But I don’t think so. I think he’s just tryin’ to be a good person. Tryin’ to do what’s right. And that’s more than I can say for some politicians.
Now, I ain’t sayin’ I understand it all. This “transgender” stuff, it’s new to me. But I do understand kindness. I understand treatin’ folks with respect. And I understand that everyone deserves a fair shake, no matter who they are or who they love.
Allred and Cruz, they’re gonna keep fightin’ about this, I reckon. But in the end, it’s up to us, the folks, to decide what’s right. And I hope we choose kindness. I hope we choose love. And I hope we choose to let folks be themselves, even if we don’t quite understand it. ‘Cause at the end of the day, we’re all just people tryin’ to get by.
So this Allred trans situation, well, it seems to me it’s about more than just politics. It’s about how we treat each other. And that’s somethin’ worth thinkin’ about, don’t ya think?
