Okay, so I saw this trend on TikTok about “Halloween pick up lines” and I thought, “Why not give it a shot?” I mean, Halloween is just around the corner, and who knows, maybe I’ll actually use one of these.
The Preparation
First, I scrolled through a bunch of videos and articles online, just looking for some inspiration. There were tons of cheesy ones, some really creepy ones, and a few that were actually kind of clever. I jotted down a few that I thought were funny, or at least not totally embarrassing.
The Practice Round
I decided to test them out on my friends first. You know, low stakes, just to see their reactions. I started a group chat and just dropped a few lines in there.
- “Are you a ghost? Because you’ve been haunting my dreams.” (Okay, a bit cheesy, I admit.)
- “If you were a pumpkin, I’d pick you.” (Simple, but kinda cute, right?)
- “Is your name Buffy? Because I think I am falling slayer over heels for you ”
- “I’m not a vampire, but I wouldn’t mind a bite.” (This one felt a little risky, haha.)
The Reactions
My friends, bless their hearts, gave me some honest feedback. Some lines got a few laughs, others were met with “LOL” or the dreaded eye-roll emoji. My close friend wrote ” The 3rd one is good,the others are too general “.
The third pickup line is pretty good.
Real-World Application?
Honestly, I’m still not sure if I’ll actually use any of these on someone I’m, you know, interested in. Maybe if the conversation is already going well and I feel like being a little silly. It all depends on the vibe, I guess.
I think I will use “Is your name Buffy? Because I think I am falling slayer over heels for you ” to the girl who I am interested in.
The Verdict
This whole experiment was mostly for fun. It’s a good way to get into the Halloween spirit, and hey, even if I don’t use these lines to actually pick someone up, at least I got a few laughs out of it. And who knows, maybe I’ve inspired someone else to try their luck with a cheesy Halloween pick up line. Go for it! Worst case scenario, you get a good story out of it.
