Okay, so I’ve been meaning to explore this whole “gay women” thing for a while. Not in a creepy way, obviously! I just wanted to understand more, you know? It’s a big, diverse world out there, and I felt like I was missing a piece of the puzzle.

Getting Started
First, I started by just thinking. Plain and simple. What did I already think I knew? What were my assumptions? I jotted down some notes, just stream-of-consciousness stuff. This helped me see where my biases might be.
Digging Deeper
Then, I did some basic searching. No deep dives, just some casual browsing. I wanted to get a general sense of how people talk about lesbian experiences, what kind of language they use, that sort of thing. I was paying attention not just to what people were saying, but how they were saying it.
- I spent a good chunk of time just reading personal stories.
- I tried to find different perspectives.
- I was careful to avoid anything that felt exploitative or overly focused on the physical.
Making Sense of It All
After that, I took some time to process everything. I went back to my original notes and compared them to what I’d learned. Some of my assumptions were challenged, some were confirmed. I felt like I had a slightly better understanding, but it was still pretty surface-level.
It is clear that I only got the shallow meaning of it, need to learn more.
