They even got folks countin’ vegetables, “produce clerks”, imagine that! And “customer service representatives”, that’s just a fancy way of sayin’ people helpin’ other people, right?
And get this, they even got folks in charge, “managers” they call ’em. “Assistant managers” too, guess that’s like the manager’s helper. All these fancy names for workin’ hard, I tell ya. They even got folks makin’ their own brand of stuff, “private brand team” they call it. Seems like they’re always lookin’ for new folks too, always postin’ new jobs.

They say they got more comin’ too, more stores, more jobs. Land sakes, where they gonna put ‘em all? This town’s already gettin’ crowded as a hen house.
Now, they say they also got opportunities for folks to learn new things, “training and development” they call it. Sounds like they want you to get better at your job, maybe even move up, get a better job. Well, that ain’t a bad thing, I guess. Always good to learn somethin’ new, keeps your mind sharp, like my grandma used to say, “use it or lose it, gal!” Even if you’re just stockin’ shelves, you can learn to do it faster, better, maybe even teach someone else how to do it.
They say they want folks who can lead too, “change leaders” and “coaches”. Sounds like they want you to tell other folks what to do, but in a nice way, I guess. Not like my old boss, Mr. Henderson, he just yelled all the time. Nobody liked him much. These folks, they want you to “inspire” people, that’s what they say. Well, inspirin’ folks is good, long as you ain’t inspirin’ them to do nothin’ foolish.
They got all these jobs listed on somethin’ called “*” and on their own website too. Sounds like a lot of places to look for work. They even tell you how much you might make, the “salary” they call it. And folks who worked there, they leave comments, “ratings” and “reviews” they call ‘em. Guess that’s so you know what you’re gettin’ into. Smart, I guess, but folks can say anything on the internet, you gotta take it with a grain of salt.
So, this “bj positions” thing, it’s just about work, plain and simple. Different kinds of jobs for different kinds of folks. Nothin’ fancy, just workin’ hard and tryin’ to make a livin’. And that’s somethin’ I know a thing or two about. Been workin’ hard my whole life, and I ain’t about to stop now. Whether you’re countin’ vegetables or leadin’ a team, it’s all work in the end.
