Alright, so I wanted to make some text art with the words “teen athletes” using bubble letters. It sounded simple enough, right? Well, let me tell you, it was a bit of a journey.

First, I tried to find a simple tool online to do it for me. I searched through millions of websites, and nothing could do what I wanted it to do. I found some sites that could generate bubble letters, but they were all basic and boring.
So, I decided to take matters into my own hands and do it myself. I started by sketching out the words on paper. I’m no artist, so it was pretty rough at first. I messed up a bunch of times, erasing and redrawing until I got a general shape that I liked for each letter.
After that, I opened up a drawing app on my computer. I’ve used it before for some basic stuff, like cropping images or making simple memes. I figured I could use it to trace my sketches and make them look more polished. I created a new file and started importing my sketches one by one, tracing over them with the pen tool. It took some time to get the hang of it, but slowly and surely, the bubble letters started to take shape.
- T: This was a hard letter to start with. I tried and failed a few times to make it look right.
- E: I think I made this one too wide. I ended up trimming it down a bit later.
- E: Same with this one. I guess I just naturally write my Es wide.
- N: This was a fun letter to draw. I really like how it turned out.
- A: This one was easier than I expected. It only took me a few tries to get right.
- T: Same as the other T, which makes sense.
- H: I got this one right on the first try!
- L: I tried to make it slant, but I couldn’t quite pull it off.
- E: By this point, I was getting pretty good at drawing Es.
- T: I was also getting good at Ts.
- E: Another easy E.
- S: This one was also tricky. I’m just not good at drawing Ss, I guess.
Once I had the outline done, I started filling in the letters with different colors. I wanted something bright and fun, so I used a mix of blues, greens, and yellows. It was pretty satisfying to see the colors bring the letters to life.
Finally, I added some shadows and highlights to give the letters a bit more depth. This was the most challenging part, but I think it really made a difference in the end.

It took me a while, but I finally finished my “teen athletes” bubble letter art. It’s not perfect, but I’m pretty proud of it. It was a fun little project, and I learned a lot along the way. I still need some practice drawing those Ss, though.
