So, I stumbled upon this thing called “Project 2025,” and it’s got some folks talking about a potential porn ban if Donald Trump wins again. It’s all laid out in this document from some far-right think tank called the Heritage Foundation.
I started digging into it, and right off the bat, just five pages into the foreword, they’re talking about how they want to crack down on pornography. Now, they don’t exactly spell out what they mean by “pornography,” but it’s pretty obvious they’re not just talking about explicit videos and pictures.
I kept reading, and this Project 2025 thing is like a wish list for a bunch of far-right ideas. I mean, it covers a whole range of stuff, not just porn. They’re talking about gender and all sorts of things that I think a lot of people would be shocked to hear about.
Here’s what I did to get a better understanding:
- Read the document: Yeah, I actually went through the Project 2025 document. It’s a slog, but it’s the only way to really see what they’re proposing.
- Looked up the Heritage Foundation: I wanted to know who was behind this, so I did some research on the think tank that put it together.
- Checked out some news articles: I wasn’t the only one talking about this, so I read what some other folks had to say to get different perspectives.
After doing all that, I realized this isn’t just some fringe idea. It’s a real plan that could have a big impact. I mean, if they get their way, it wouldn’t just be about banning certain types of videos. It would probably affect a whole lot of content related to gender and sexuality.
So, I started talking about it with some friends, and we had some pretty intense discussions. It’s a complicated issue, and there are a lot of different opinions on it. But I think it’s important to be informed and to have these conversations, even if they’re uncomfortable.
I’m still trying to wrap my head around the whole thing, but I figured I’d share what I’ve learned so far. It’s definitely something to keep an eye on, especially with the election coming up.
