Alright, let’s talk about this thing, you know, after takin’ them pills to… well, you know… not have the baby. Folks don’t talk about it much, but it’s somethin’ women need to know.
So, you took them pills. Maybe you was scared, maybe you wasn’t ready, maybe it just wasn’t meant to be. That ain’t for me to judge. But now you gotta take care of yourself, that’s the important part.
Now, when can you get back to… well, you know… bein’ with your man? That’s what you wanna know, right? Some folks say you gotta wait a good long while, two or three weeks even. They say it’s ‘cause you could get an infection, and you might bleed for a spell, maybe even a whole month! That’s a long time, I tell ya.
They say you can go back to work, do your chores, drive around, all that stuff, pretty much the next day if you feel up to it. But don’t go liftin’ no heavy furniture or nothin’! Take it easy for a few days. You’ll start feelin’ better as the days go by.
Some other folks, though, they say there ain’t no set time. They say soon as you feel ready, you can go right ahead. But I tell you what, listen to your body. It’s been through a lot. Don’t go rushin’ into nothin’.
- Some doctors, they say wait a week. Just to be safe, you know.
- And if you had that other kind of… procedure… the one where they do it at the clinic, they say no tampons for a week too.
Then there’s them that say, you can do it soon as you feel like it. And they talk about birth control right away too. I guess you can get pregnant again real quick, so you gotta be careful if you don’t want another baby right off.
Another bunch says wait two weeks, or a few days after the bleedin’ stops. And no swimmin’ for a bit neither. Water can carry germs, you know. Gotta keep things clean down there.
And them folks at that Planned Parenthood place, they say the same thing. Soon as you feel ready, and get on that birth control right away. It seems like everyone’s got a slightly different idea about it.
So, what’s a gal to do? Well, I ain’t no doctor, but I’ve seen a thing or two in my life. Here’s what I’d say:
First off, take care of yourself. Rest up, eat good, let your body heal. You’ve been through somethin’ big, don’t forget that.
Second, talk to a doctor or a nurse. They know more than I do. They can tell you what’s best for your particular situation. Don’t be shy about askin’ questions. It’s your body, you gotta take charge.
Third, listen to your body. Don’t let nobody pressure you into nothin’ you ain’t ready for. If you don’t feel right, don’t do it. It’s as simple as that.
And finally, be careful. Like them folks said, you can get pregnant again real easy. So, if you ain’t ready for that, make sure you’re using somethin’ to prevent it. There’s lots of ways to do that nowadays.
So, there you have it. That’s all I know about it. Just take it slow, be kind to yourself, and get good advice. You’ll be alright.
