Okay, so I wanted to make those cool smiley faces with the thumbs-up, you know, the ones you see all over the internet. I figured it couldn’t be that hard, right? Famous last words.

First, I started by just messing around on my phone. I opened up my usual messaging app and started scrolling through the emoji keyboard. I found a bunch of smiley faces, no problem. And I found the thumbs-up, easy peasy. But putting them together? That’s where things got tricky.
My First Attempts (and Fails)
- Attempt 1: I tried just typing the smiley face and then the thumbs-up. Nope. They just sat there, side by side, not really combined like I wanted. ๐๐
- Attempt 2: I thought maybe I needed some kind of secret code or something. I went down a rabbit hole of searching online, but most of what I found was way too complicated, with all sorts of characters I didn’t even recognize.
- Attempt 3: I even tried copying and pasting from some websites that claimed to have these combined emojis. But when I pasted them into my message, they just looked like a jumbled mess.
I was starting to get a little frustrated. It seemed like such a simple thing, but I just couldn’t get it to work. I almost gave up. But then, I had a bit of an “aha!” moment.
The (Slightly) More Successful Approach
It turns out you can not creat just one character, they are two characters combined. It’s simple copy and paste to use them.
I realized you just have to chose the smiley face and thumbs up, it’s two simple and independent emoji. And it looks good.๐๐
So, that’s it! That’s my incredibly exciting journey into the world of combining emojis. It wasn’t groundbreaking, but I learned something new, and now I can sprinkle these little guys into my messages whenever I want. Hope this little story of my emoji struggles helped someone out there!
