Alright, let’s talk about this “Coco Maxima” thing, whatever it is. Sounds fancy, like somethin’ them city folks would jabber about. But from what I gather, it’s a movie, or maybe a TV show, somethin’ with pictures that move. Don’t watch much of that myself, too busy with chores and whatnot.
Now, they say this “Coco Maxima” thing is about a holiday, somethin’ called “Day of the Dead.” Sounds spooky, like them ghost stories my grandma used to tell. But apparently, it ain’t about scarin’ folks, it’s about rememberin’ family, them that ain’t with us no more. That’s important, you know? Family is all you got in this world.
- They say it’s got pretty pictures, all colorful and lively. Folks from all over, even from far-off lands, comin’ to visit this Maria Salud Ramirez’s house. Must be a big deal, this Maria. Reminds me of that time the mayor came to our town, everyone made a fuss.
- And this “Coco Maxima,” maybe she’s in it, or maybe she made it, I ain’t quite sure. City folks and their fancy words. But it’s supposed to be about folks bein’ themselves, even when it’s hard. Like that time I told Old Man Johnson where to stick his complaints about my chickens. Gotta be true to yourself, ain’t that right?
They talk about “awe-inspiring animation” and “thought-provoking narratives.” Big words, I tell ya. But from what I understand, it means the pictures are pretty and the story makes you think. Think about what, you ask? Well, think about family, think about who you are, think about where you come from. Just like how I always say, remember your roots, child. They ground you like nothin’ else.
This “Coco Maxima” thing, it’s supposed to be real popular. Folks all over are watchin’ it on their TVs and their “Roku Channels” and their “Apple TVs.” Don’t know much about them things, got my old radio and that’s good enough for me. But seems like everyone’s talkin’ about it, so it must be somethin’ special.
They even got “facts” about it, 47 of ’em! Imagine that, 47 things to know about a picture show. Must be more complicated than milkin’ a cow, that’s for sure. But they say it’s “heartwarming,” which sounds nice. Like a warm cup of tea on a cold day, somethin’ that makes you feel good inside. Sometimes, that’s all a body needs, you know? A little warmth in this cold world.
So, this “Coco Maxima,” it’s about family, about bein’ yourself, about rememberin’ them that’s gone. And it’s got pretty pictures and makes folks think. Sounds like somethin’ even an old woman like me could understand. Maybe I’ll ask my grandson to show me this “Coco Maxima” thing one day. Might be a nice change from starin’ at the chickens all day long.
Anyway, that’s all I got to say about it. It’s just a picture show, nothin’ to get too worked up about. But if it makes folks happy and reminds them about family, well, then I guess it can’t be all bad. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go feed them chickens. They don’t care about no “Coco Maxima,” they just want their corn.
You see, in the end, all that really matters is the simple things, family, honesty, a good day’s work. Not sure if this picture show understands that, but I sure do. And I guess that’s somethin’.
