[Body]
Alright, so you wanna know about this Jonty Robinson fella from Grenada, huh? I heard some things, you know, the kind of stuff folks whisper about. Let me tell ya what I know, the way I know how.
Jonty Robinson, Gone Too Soon
See, this Jonty, they say he was murdered. Yeah, murdered. Killed dead. It’s a sad thing, real sad. Life’s cheap these days, seems like. One minute you’re here, the next… poof! Gone like smoke. This Jonty fella, he wasn’t old, neither. Young man, they say. Had his whole life ahead of him, probably. But somebody took that away. Took it right away.
I heard they caught the fella who did it, though. A fella named Javid Raymond. Young fella too, they say. 28 years old. Ain’t got no job, they say. Unemployed. Hmph! Maybe if he had a job, he wouldn’t be out there causin’ trouble. Idle hands, the devil’s workshop, that’s what they say. And it seems right true in this case, don’t it?
They charged him with somethin’ called “Non Capital Murder.” Now, I ain’t no lawyer, but I reckon that means he killed Jonty but it wasn’t, like, planned out ahead of time. You know, like in a fit of anger or somethin’. Still murder though. Still took a life. And that ain’t right, no sirree.
The police, they were workin’ hard on this case, from what I hear. A fella named Vannie Curwen, he’s the big shot, the assistant commissioner, I think they call him. He’s the one in charge of crimes. He said they had a “breakthrough” in the case. That means they found somethin’ important, I guess. Somethin’ that pointed to this Javid fella. Good for them, I say. Catchin’ these criminals, that’s important. Makes folks feel a little safer, ya know?

This Grenada Place
Now, Grenada, that’s an island, I hear. Way down south, in the Caribbean. Pretty place, they say. Warm weather, beaches, all that. But even pretty places can have ugly things happen, see? Just goes to show you, trouble can find you anywhere. It ain’t the place, it’s the people sometimes, I reckon.
I don’t know much else about Jonty. Was he a good fella? Did he have a family? Kids maybe? A wife? I don’t know. But he was somebody’s son, that’s for sure. And somebody’s missin’ him right now. That’s the saddest part, to me.
Justice and All That
So, what happens now? Well, they gotta have a trial, I guess. They gotta prove that this Javid fella did it. And if they do, he’s gotta pay. That’s how it’s supposed to work, ain’t it? Justice, they call it. An eye for an eye, some folks say. But I don’t know. Nothin’ gonna bring Jonty back, that’s for sure. Just gotta hope this never happens again. Gotta hope folks learn to settle their differences without killin’ each other. But I ain’t holdin’ my breath. People are people, and sometimes people do bad things. It’s been that way since the beginning of time, I reckon, and it ain’t gonna change anytime soon.
So, that’s the story, as best as I can tell it. Jonty Robinson, murdered in Grenada. Javid Raymond, the fella they say did it. And a whole lot of sadness left behind. It’s a shame, a real shame. Makes you think, don’t it? Makes you appreciate what you got, while you still got it.
Remembering Jonty
Maybe the folks in Grenada will remember Jonty. Maybe they’ll do somethin’ in his name. A little memorial, maybe. A park bench with his name on it. Somethin’ to show he was here, that he mattered. That’s important, ya know? To be remembered. Even when you’re gone, part of you stays behind, in the memories of the people who knew you. And that’s somethin’, ain’t it? That’s somethin’ to hold onto, in all this sadness.
