Okay, so yesterday was my friend Sarah’s birthday, and she’s a HUGE Swiftie. Like, knows-every-lyric-ever kind of Swiftie. I wanted to do something special, so I thought, “Why not make a personalized birthday card using Taylor Swift lyrics?” It sounded cute and doable, right? Well, let me tell you how it went.

Brainstorming and Picking Lyrics
First, I spent like an hour just scrolling through all of Taylor’s albums. I mean, she has SO many songs. I needed lyrics that felt birthday-ish, but also captured our friendship. I started with a simple “Happy Birthday” with google search, and I got some songs.
- I started with “Long Live” – you know, “Long live the walls we crashed through. I had the time of my life, with you.” It felt perfect for a friend’s birthday.
- Then I considered “22” because, well, it’s a classic birthday song, but she wasn’t turning 22, so the part “I don’t know about you, But I am feeling 22” is not that fit.
- I also thought about “The Best Day” – especially the lines about childhood memories, but I think it is too childish for a birthday.
Designing the Card
After I picked the lyrics, I decided to design the card, you know, with old photos of us together. But my printer decided to have an out-of-color. Classic.
So I ended up hand-writing the lyrics. I tried to make my handwriting look all fancy, like calligraphy but it turned out more like chicken scratch. But hey, it’s the thought that counts, right?
The Final Result
In the end, the card was a mix of “Long Live” and some random lines from “Fearless” that just felt right. I added some glitter glue (because, why not?) and drew some little hearts. It wasn’t perfect, but it was definitely handmade and full of Taylor Swift goodness.
Sarah loved it! She said it was the most thoughtful card she’d ever gotten, which made all the lyric-searching and handwriting struggles totally worth it. I might just make this a tradition for all my Swiftie friends’ birthdays. It’s a fun, personalized way to celebrate them, and it’s a good excuse for me to listen to more Taylor Swift, which is always a win.
