So, I’ve been feeling like my relationship could use a little… boost. You know, keep things fresh and exciting. I figured, why not try one of those online relationship courses everyone’s talking about? I mean, who couldn’t use a little expert advice, right?

First things first, I started by just googling “relationship courses online.” Boy, was that overwhelming! There are, like, a million options out there. Everything from quickie workshops to full-blown, months-long programs.
I spent a good chunk of time just reading reviews and descriptions. I wanted something that felt practical, not just a bunch of fluffy theories. I also didn’t want to commit to something super intense right away. I mean, what if it wasn’t a good fit?
- I narrowed it down to a few that seemed promising.
- Then, I checked out the instructors’ backgrounds. Did they actually know what they were talking about? Were they qualified?
- I also looked for courses that had some kind of trial period or money-back guarantee. Just in case.
Finally, I picked one that focused on communication skills. It seemed like a good starting point, and it had a lot of positive reviews. It was a series of video modules, with some worksheets and exercises to do together.
We started working through the course, setting aside a couple of evenings a week to watch the videos and do the activities. It was actually kind of fun! Some of the exercises were a little awkward at first, but they definitely got us talking about things we wouldn’t normally discuss.
I have to admit, some of the stuff felt pretty basic. Like, “listen to your partner” – duh! But even those reminders were helpful. It’s easy to get caught up in your own head and forget the simple things.

The Real Work
The real work came when we started applying the techniques in our everyday lives. It wasn’t always easy. Old habits die hard, you know?
But we kept at it, reminding each other of what we’d learned. We even created a little “cheat sheet” of the key communication strategies to keep on the fridge!
It’s still a work in progress, of course. But I can honestly say that we’re communicating better and feeling more connected. It’s not a magic fix, but it’s definitely a step in the right direction. I think that taking online courses can really help people in a relationship.
