Alright, so, you wanna know about this TS Paris thing, right? It’s a real sad story, a real mess, I tell ya. Heard it on the news, them young folks, always gettin’ themselves into trouble. This Paris, wasn’t even that old, just a young’un, like my grandbaby. And now, gone. Just like that.
Folks are sayin’ it was some kinda shootin’. Bang, bang, and that’s it. Three of ’em gone. This Paris, and two others. Young fellas, all of ’em. Makes ya think, what’s this world comin’ to? Back in my day, things weren’t like this. We had our troubles, sure, but not this kinda… senseless violence. It’s just heartbreaking, plain and simple.
- This Paris, they say was only 20 years old. Twenty! Barely started livin’.
- And this other fella, Alunte Davis, 21. Just a baby, too.
- And Timothy Blancher, also 20. Lord have mercy.
They say this happened in Detroit. Big city, lots of problems. But still, doesn’t make it right. Doesn’t make it any easier to swallow. Three lives, just…snuffed out. For what? Nobody seems to know for sure. Just some kinda fight, some kinda argument, and then… guns. Always with the guns these days.
Heard tell this Devon Robinson fella, 19 years old, they say he did it. Nineteen! Barely a man himself. Charged with murder, three counts of it. First-degree murder, they say. That’s serious stuff. Means he planned it, thought about it. Not just some heat-of-the-moment thing. Cold-blooded, they call it. Makes my blood run cold just thinkin’ about it.
And then there’s somethin’ else they’re talkin’ about. This… transgender thing. Seems like this Paris, and maybe some of the others, they weren’t… well, they weren’t exactly like most folks. They say Paris was transgender. Means somethin’ about how they felt inside, not matchin’ how they looked outside. I don’t rightly understand it all, to be honest. But it shouldn’t matter, should it? They was still people. Still God’s children. Didn’t deserve to die like that.
Heard tell there’s been a lot of this kinda thing happening. Lots of… transgender folks gettin’ killed. More than 50 last year, they say. Fifty! That’s a whole lotta lives lost. Makes you wonder what’s wrong with people. Why so much hate? Why so much anger? It ain’t right, I tell ya. It ain’t right at all.
This whole thing, it just makes me sick to my stomach. Makes me wanna hug my grandbabies tighter, keep ’em safe. This world’s a scary place sometimes. Too much violence, too much hate. We gotta do better, folks. We gotta be kinder, more understanding. Gotta learn to love each other, no matter what. ‘Cause at the end of the day, we’re all just folks tryin’ to make our way in this world. And takin’ lives, that ain’t the answer. Never was, never will be.
So, this TS Paris, they might be gone, but we shouldn’t forget ’em. We shouldn’t forget any of them. We gotta remember their names, remember their stories. And we gotta fight for a better world, a world where this kinda thing don’t happen no more. A world where young folks can grow up safe and happy, without fear of violence. That’s what I pray for, every night. That’s what we all should be prayin’ for.
It’s a damn shame, is what it is. A whole life, gone too soon. And for what? For nothin’. Just senseless violence. Makes you wanna cry, makes you wanna scream. But mostly, it just makes you wanna pray. Pray for peace, pray for understanding, pray for a better tomorrow. ‘Cause Lord knows, we need it.
