Okay, so I’ve been putting off getting tested for, you know, everything for a while now. It’s just one of those things you don’t really want to do, but you know you should. Finally, I bit the bullet and decided to get it over with. The big thing for me was speed – I wanted results ASAP, so I started looking into “std clinic same day results”.

First, I did a bunch of searching online. I just typed in that phrase and my city. A few places popped up, some hospitals, some dedicated clinics. I looked at a couple of reviews.
Then, I called one. I went with it. I asked straight up, “Do you guys offer same-day results for STD testing?” The person on the phone was super chill and said, “For some tests, yes, but not all. It depends on what you’re getting checked for.” They explained that things like chlamydia and gonorrhea could come back quick, but others, might take a few days. Good to know!
I made an appointment for later that afternoon. I am very nervous, and the process began.
The Actual Appointment
When I got there, it was pretty much like any other doctor’s visit. I checked in, filled out some paperwork (name, address, insurance info, the usual boring stuff), and waited for a bit.
Finally, I went back with a nurse, and she asked me some questions about my, um, history and what I wanted to be tested for. I just told her I wanted the full rundown, everything they could do. Honesty is the best policy, right?

Next up, the tests. This part varies depending on what you’re getting checked for. For me, it involved a urine sample and some blood work. It wasn’t a big deal, just a little uncomfortable for a few * waiting period is really bad!
Getting the Results
The nurse told me the rapid tests would be back in about an hour, and they’d call me into a room to go over them. The blood test results would take longer, and they’d call me in a few days for those. So, I went back to the waiting room and tried to distract myself with my phone.
About an hour later, they called me back in. The doctor came in and gave me the good news – the rapid tests for chlamydia and gonorrhea were negative! HUGE relief. She explained everything clearly, and I felt a million times better.
- Step 1:Found a place.
- Step 2:Confirmed they did, in fact, do same-day results for some tests.
- Step 3: Made the appointment.
- Step 4:Did the tests.
- Step 5:Got (some) results!
So, that’s my experience. It wasn’t nearly as bad as I built it up to be in my head. If you’re thinking about getting tested, just do it. And if you’re worried about the wait, definitely look for a clinic that offers same-day results – it makes the whole thing a lot less stressful.
