Hey everyone, it’s your old buddy back again! Today I wanna share a little project I did – making a Snow White poison apple. Yeah, you heard that right, the one from the fairy tale. I’ve always been fascinated by that story, especially the whole poisoned apple thing. So I thought, why not try to make one myself? Not a real poisoned one, of course, just something that looks like it.
First, I gotta find the perfect apple. It’s gotta be big, round, and shiny red. So I went to the grocery store and picked out the best-looking one they had. Then I had to figure out how to make it look “poisoned”. I did some digging online and saw a bunch of different ideas, mostly about drinks and cocktails inspired by Snow White. But I wanted to make the apple itself.
I remembered reading somewhere that the poison apple in the story sends its victim into a “Sleeping Death.” Creepy, right? So I wanted my apple to look kind of creepy too. I decided to use some food coloring to make a dripping, poison-like effect.
Here’s what I did: I mixed a little bit of black food coloring with some corn syrup to make it thick and gooey. Then, using a toothpick, I carefully dripped it over the top of the apple, letting it run down the sides. It looked pretty cool, like something the Evil Queen herself would make.
To make it even more dramatic, I decided to add a bit of red food coloring to the mix. Just a few drops, to give it that blood-red look mentioned in some descriptions I found. I carefully applied it, making sure it blended well with the black, creating this eerie, poisonous look.
- Get a big, shiny red apple.
- Mix black food coloring with corn syrup.
- Add a few drops of red food coloring.
- Drip the mixture over the apple with a toothpick.
After letting it dry for a bit, I gotta say, it turned out pretty awesome! It looked just like something out of a fairy tale, all shiny and menacing at the same time. I even took some pictures of it, it looked so good.
It was a fun little project, and it got me thinking about the whole story of Snow White again. I mean, the idea of a poisoned apple is just so iconic, you know?
