Okay, so I’ve been seeing this “slim thick” thing all over my socials, and honestly, I was curious. I’m not naturally curvy, more like…straight up and down. So I decided to give it a shot, see if I could, you know, build some curves. This is my totally un-expert, just-trying-stuff-out journey.

Phase 1: Googling Like Crazy
First thing I did? Hit up Google. Seriously, I typed in everything: “how to get slim thick,” “slim thick workout,” “slim thick diet”…you name it. I was bombarded with info! It was kinda overwhelming, but I started to see some common themes.
- Lots of glute work: Squats, hip thrusts, donkey kicks…basically, anything to make your butt bigger.
- Targeted ab exercises: Not just crunches, but stuff like planks and leg raises to keep the waist small.
- Eating enough protein: Gotta feed those muscles, right?
Phase 2: The Workout Struggle
Okay, so I found a few workout routines online. Let me tell you, hip thrusts are awkward. I felt like a total goofball at the gym. And squats? My legs were burning after like, five. I definitely didn’t start with heavy weights. I used those little dumbbells, the pink ones, because I was scared of hurting myself.
I tried to stick to the routines, but honestly, some days I just couldn’t. I’d be too sore, or too tired, or just plain lazy. I wasn’t super consistent at first.
Phase 3: Food, Food, Food
The diet part was also tricky. I’m not a big eater, and I definitely don’t love chicken breast. But I tried to add more protein shakes and eggs into my diet. I also started paying more attention to my calories, trying to make sure I was eating enough, which is something I’ve never really done before.
Phase 4: Slow and Steady (Maybe?)
It’s been a few months now. Am I “slim thick”? Uh…maybe a little? I definitely see some changes in my glutes. They’re not huge, but they’re there. My waist? I think it’s a bit smaller, but it could just be wishful thinking.

The biggest change, honestly, is how I feel. I feel stronger, and I have more energy. Even if I don’t look exactly like those Instagram models, I feel better about my body. I’m actually kind of proud of myself for sticking with it, even when it was hard.
Phase 5: Still Going…
I am still doing those awkward hip trust, and my legs still burning after squats,
I am still trying eat more chicken breast even I don’t like it very much,
anyway, I will keep going.
