It don’t matter where you’re from, there’s usually some kinda event or vigil near you that marks this day. Sometimes it’s a quiet thing in a park or at a community center. Other times, folks gather at places of worship, just like any other kind of gathering. They’ll stand together, light candles, and read off the names of those who’ve passed on that year. It’s a way to show respect and to let folks know that these lives ain’t forgotten. It’s about showing love and making sure the world don’t just forget about the hurt people have gone through.
Now, in 2023, folks are already gettin’ ready for all the events that’ll be happening. Some places plan on having big ceremonies, while others may do something small but just as important. Transgender Day of Remembrance, it’s a tough day, that’s for sure, but it’s also one where we show our strength and our commitment to making the world a better place for everyone. No matter who you are, where you’re from, or who you love, it’s a day to show kindness, respect, and most importantly, remembrance. We don’t ever want to forget the lives lost, and we don’t ever want to stop fighting for the future.
