I heard some folks talkin’ ’bout this plug in public thing. Sounds fancy, don’t it? But I got to thinkin’, it ain’t that newfangled. We used to plug things in all the time, just different things. Nowadays, it’s all about them electric cars, ain’t it?

My grandson, he’s got one of them plug in car. Says it saves him a heap of money on gas. Well, I reckon that’s good. Gas prices these days, they’re higher than a cat’s back! He showed me how it works. You just plug it in like you would a toaster or a lamp. ‘Cept you gotta have a special place to plug it, not just any old wall socket.

Now, this public plug in, that’s what got me thinkin’. Back in my day, we didn’t have no fancy charing station. If your radio ran outta juice, you just plugged it into the wall. If your tractor needed a jump, you got the jumper cables out. Same idea, just different stuff we was pluggin’ in.
But these days, you got these charging stations popping up all over. Like mushrooms after a rain, they are. I seen ’em at the grocery store, at the mall, even at the park. Guess it makes sense, with all these electric cars runnin’ around. Gotta keep ’em juiced up somehow, right?

Some of these free charging stations, they’re free to use. Can you believe it? Free! Back in my day, nothin’ was free. You had to work for everything you got. But I guess times are changin’. Maybe it’s a good thing, these free EV charging. Helps folks save a little money, and that’s always a good thing.

I even seen a charger at the hiking trail the other day. Imagine that! You can go for a hike in the woods and charge your car at the same time. Times sure are changin’. They put a charging station map on the phone, so you can easily find the charger when you go hiking.
I reckon it is good for people who need to charge car when they are out. No need to worry about that. Just plug in public.
Some of these charging stations, they ain’t free. You gotta pay to use ’em. Just like payin’ for gas, I reckon. But my grandson, he says there’s ways to pay right there on your phone. Don’t even need to carry cash. Imagine that! Pay with your phone! Back in my day, we used to pay with them contactless card.
My other neighbor told me that he had that plug in hybrid before. He said he just plugged that car in the garage. The electricity wire is 220 volt. He said that can charge the car fast. It is good for him.

Well, I reckon that’s all I got to say about this plug in public business. It’s a newfangled thing, but it ain’t so different from what we used to do. Just different things we’re pluggin’ in these days. Times are changin’, but some things stay the same. You still gotta get from here to there, and you still gotta keep your stuff powered up.
