Okay, so let me tell you about this “pene grande” thing I tried out. Don’t get any weird ideas, alright? We’re talking about peppers here – big peppers!

It all started when I saw some seeds at the local nursery. Huge peppers, they said. “Pene Grande,” they called ’em. I chuckled, bought a pack, and figured, what the heck, let’s give ’em a shot.
First things first, I prepped the soil. I’m no expert gardener, but I know enough to mix in some compost and make sure the drainage is good. Planted the seeds in those little starter trays, watered ’em gently, and waited.
Man, it felt like forever. But eventually, tiny little sprouts started popping up. I was stoked! Kept ’em watered, gave ’em some sunlight, and watched ’em grow.
Once they were big enough, I transplanted them into bigger pots. Used a good potting mix this time, and made sure they had plenty of room to spread out. I even added some fertilizer, just to give ’em a little extra boost.
Now, these peppers are thirsty! I had to water them almost every day, especially when it got hot. And they needed a lot of sunlight too. I put them in the sunniest spot on my patio.

Then came the waiting game. I kept an eye out for pests, but thankfully, didn’t have too many problems. Just a few aphids, which I sprayed off with some soapy water.
And then, finally, the first peppers started to form. They were small at first, but they grew quickly. And man, were they big! Seriously, these things were massive.
When they turned red, I knew they were ready. I picked one and sliced it open. It was juicy and thick-walled. I took a bite… Not too spicy, but with a nice, sweet flavor.
I’ve been using them in everything. Salsa, stir-fries, salads. They’re awesome stuffed with cheese and grilled. Seriously, these “pene grande” peppers are a winner. I’m definitely growing them again next year!
