Okay, so lately I’ve been noticing something weird going on with my body, and it’s kinda freaking me out. It’s like, right before my period starts, I have to pee all the time. I mean, ALL the time.
So, a couple of weeks ago, I started tracking how often I was going to the bathroom. I just used a simple notes app on my phone and jotted down the time every time I went. At first, I didn’t think much of it, but then I noticed a pattern. On a normal day, I probably pee like, 5 or 6 times. But a few days before my period? We’re talking 10, 12, sometimes even more times a day.
I got curious, so I started paying more attention to other things too. Like, was I drinking more water? Nope, my water intake was pretty much the same. Was I chugging down coffee or alcohol? Nah, not really. It was just this sudden urge to pee that came out of nowhere.
This month, I decided to be a bit more detailed with my tracking. I made a little chart in my journal with different columns:
- Time of day
- How much I drank since the last pee
- How strong the urge to pee was (on a scale of 1-5)
- Any other symptoms (like bloating or cramps)
I filled it out religiously for a week leading up to my period. And guess what? The urge to pee definitely increased as my period got closer. And it wasn’t just a little increase. Some days, the urge was so strong it felt like I was gonna burst if I didn’t go right away.
I even spoke to some of my other girlfriends to ask whether they had a similar experience, but they did not. But I think they should try tracking it!
I also noticed some other things. Like, I felt more bloated than usual, and my cramps started a bit earlier than they normally do. But the peeing thing was definitely the most noticeable symptom. One day, I had to pee three times in the span of an hour.
Another weird thing? My urine looked different. A few times it was darker than usual, almost brownish. That really freaked me out, so I made a note to ask my doctor about it during my next visit.
After keeping track of everything for a few months, I think I’m starting to see a connection between my hormones and the frequent peeing. It seems like it’s all tied to my menstrual cycle. But I’m no doctor, so I can’t say for sure.
Anyway, I just wanted to share my experience in case anyone else is going through something similar. It’s kinda annoying to have to pee all the time, but at least I know I’m not alone. And hey, maybe by tracking it, we can all figure out what’s going on with our bodies.
Next Steps
I’m definitely going to keep tracking my bathroom habits, especially around my period. I think it’s good information to have. I also plan to bring it up with my doctor during my next appointment. I’m curious to see what they say about it. And of course, I will continue my daily observation journal, after all, I enjoy it.
