My Trip to the Brookpark Spot
Okay, so I had to head over to that Planned Parenthood place on Brookpark Road the other week. Wasn’t for me, actually, was helping out a friend who was kinda nervous about going alone. You know how it is.
First thing was figuring out the appointment. My friend handled the actual call, said it was pretty straightforward, just getting times and what info they needed beforehand. Seemed simple enough, no big drama there.
Then came the day. Getting there was easy, Brookpark Road is busy but manageable if you time it right. Finding the building itself wasn’t hard, it’s right there. Parking though… that took a minute. It’s got a lot, but it felt kinda full, had to circle once. Found a spot eventually.
Walking in, it felt… well, like a clinic. Clean, kinda quiet despite people being around. You go up to the desk, check in. The person behind the counter was polite, just doing their job, you know? Gave us some papers, standard stuff.
Then we sat down in the waiting area. It wasn’t fancy, just chairs and some posters on the wall. People were mostly keeping to themselves, looking at their phones or just staring ahead. Felt a little tense, maybe? Or maybe that was just us being nervous.
They called my friend’s name after maybe 15-20 minutes. Not too bad of a wait. I just stayed in the waiting room. Flipped through an old magazine someone left behind.

- Looked around
- Waited some more
Friend came out after a while, seemed okay. Said the staff inside were nice, explained things clearly. Didn’t get into details, wasn’t my business anyway. Just glad they felt alright about it.
Leaving was simple, just walked out, found the car, and drove off. All in all, it was just… a place to go for specific stuff. Did the job, seemed professional enough from what I saw and what my friend said. Just another errand, really, but one you kinda remember because of the place it is. Glad I could be there for my friend, that was the main thing. Made the whole process feel less daunting for them, I hope.
