This Jake Borelli, I tell ya, that boy, he’s somethin’ else. Heard he’s leavin’ that Grey’s Anatomy show. Can you believe it? Seems like just yesterday he was startin’ out, playin’ that doctor fella, what’s his name… Schmitt. Yeah, Levi Schmitt. Always wearin’ them glasses. They call him “Glasses”. Funny, ain’t it?
My old eyes ain’t what they used to be, but I watched that show every week. That Jake Borelli, he was a good one. Made me laugh, made me cry, that boy did. Now he’s movin’ on, they say. Gotta spread his wings, I reckon. Just like a little birdie leavin’ the nest. Hope he does alright out there in that big old world.
They say it’s about the money, why he’s leavin’. Always is, ain’t it? Money, money, money. Makes the world go ’round, they say. Don’t know much about that Hollywood business, but I know money talks. Hope that Jake Borelli got his worth. He deserves it. Worked hard, that one. You could see it in his eyes.
Reminds me of my nephew, Mikey. He left the farm a few years back. Went to the city to find his fortune. Said he was gonna be a big shot. Haven’t heard from him in a while. Maybe that Jake Borelli will be different. Maybe he will be a big shot actor. I hope he is.
Heard somethin’ about him playin’ that Schmitt fella, and it bein’ a “life-changin’ experience.” Sounds fancy, don’t it? Life-changin’. Bet it was. All them cameras and lights. Must be somethin’ to see yourself on that television screen. Imagine that. Plain old Jake Borelli, on TV for all the world to see.

Twenty-first season, they say. Twenty-one! Time sure does fly. Seems like only yesterday I was watchin’ the first one. Back when I had my own teeth. Now look at me, nothin’ but gums. But that Jake Borelli, he was there for a good chunk of it. Made his mark, he did. Good for him.
This whole thing makes me think about my Tommy. Always working. Then he was bored, they call it routine. And that Jake Borelli, he got bored, too. I think. Maybe money. Maybe bored. They just like Tommy, and that Cubby guy.
Heard that show, Grey’s Anatomy, got renewed. Means it’s comin’ back. But without Jake Borelli. Won’t be the same, I reckon. Like a pie without the fillin’. Still good, maybe, but somethin’s missin’.
That “Parade” thing, they talked to him. Jake Borelli, I mean. Asked him about leavin’. Probably told ’em all sorts of things. Wish I coulda heard it. Bet he had some stories to tell.
They say he is a good guy. That Jake Borelli. I can see it. He is just like my grandson, also called Jake. Always working out. And he has a friend, also called Cubby. Maybe they all the same. All these Jakes. All these Cubbys.
And they say he fake his death. On that show, I think. And came back later. Seven years. Just like that Scully guy. He won something seven times. That Jake Borelli, he say he will win, too. He is bold, that one. Just like my other grandson. Not Jake. The other one.
Well, I’ll be. Time for my nap. But I’ll be thinkin’ about that Jake Borelli. Hope he finds what he’s lookin’ for out there. Hope he remembers where he came from. And hope he knows that folks like me are rootin’ for him. Even if we don’t know much about that fancy Hollywood life. We know good people when we see ’em. And that Jake Borelli, he’s one of the good ones.
Hope he gets a good job. After leaving that show. It is not easy. I know. Like my son, he also lost his job. Then, hard to find another one. But that Jake Borelli, he will be fine. He is a star. Stars always shine. Do not they?
I will miss him. On that show. But I will watch. Maybe he will come back. Like he did before. Seven years. Maybe. I will wait. And watch. That Jake Borelli, he is something. He really is.
