Okay, so today I decided to play around with the idea of Jack Frost and Elsa. You know, from “Rise of the Guardians” and “Frozen”? I’ve seen tons of fan art and stuff online, and I thought, “Why not try my hand at it?”

Getting Started
First, I gathered some reference images. I opened up a bunch of browser tabs with pictures of both Jack and Elsa in different poses and styles. Gotta get those visuals down, right?
Then, I grabbed my trusty sketchbook and pencil. I’m not a digital artist, I prefer the feel of pencil on paper, you get me? I started with some really rough sketches, just trying to get the basic shapes and poses.
The Messy Middle
- I drew Jack first, all leaning back and kind of mischievous.
- Then I added Elsa beside him, a bit more regal and, you know, icy.
- I struggled a lot with their interaction. How close should they be? What kind of expression should they have?
- It is really hard to draw the detail and the shape of the figure!
- I erased, redrew, and erased again. So. Much. Erasing.
It was a bit of a mess, honestly. But that’s okay, that’s part of the process! I kept going, trying different things, playing with their hairstyles, their outfits… I even tried adding some little snowflakes floating around them, just for extra flair.
Finally Figuring It Out
After a few hours (yeah, it took a while!), I finally got something I kinda liked. It wasn’t perfect, but it captured the vibe I was going for. Jack’s got this playful smirk, and Elsa’s looking at him with a mixture of amusement and… something else. I don’t know, maybe a little bit of that “are you serious?” look.
I went over the lines I wanted to keep with a darker pencil, making them a bit cleaner. I even added a little bit of shading, just to give it some depth. Nothing fancy, just enough to make it pop a little.

So, yeah, that was my little artistic adventure for the day. It was fun, frustrating, and ultimately rewarding. Maybe I’ll try it again sometime, maybe try a different style, or maybe even attempt some color! Who knows? That’s the beauty of creating stuff, you never know where it’ll take you.
