So, the other day I decided it was time to check out the Planned Parenthood in St. Paul, the one on Vandalia Street. I’d been putting it off, but you know how it is with these things – gotta take care of yourself, right?

First off, I found the address – 671 Vandalia Street. Figuring out where to go was the easy part, thankfully.
Next, I called them up. I needed to get some info on birth control and, well, just a general check-up. The person on the phone was pretty helpful, walking me through the different services they offer. They have stuff like the pill, the shot, implants, and even IUDs. Plus, they do STD testing, which is always good to keep on top of. I jotted down some notes about the types of birth control that caught my eye.
Booking the appointment was a breeze.
We set a time that worked for me, and they gave me some basic instructions on what to expect. I made sure to write down the date and time so I wouldn’t forget. I also did a quick search online about the place. It had decent reviews, around 2.9 stars, so I figured it would be alright.
When I arrived, I checked in at the front desk. The waiting room was pretty standard – nothing fancy, but clean and organized. They called my name after a short wait, and I was led to an examination room. I filled out some standard paperwork, mostly about my medical history and the reason for my visit. It was all pretty straightforward.

The nurse came in first and did the usual vitals check. She was friendly, which helped calm my nerves a bit. After that, the doctor came in. We chatted about my options for birth control, and I decided to go with the pill for now. The doctor explained how to take it properly and what to do if I missed a dose. I made a mental note to set a daily reminder on my phone.
- Birth Control: Pills, Shot, Implant, IUD
- STD Testing: herpes, chlamydia, gonorrhea, genital warts, syphilis
- Emergency Contraception (morning after pill)
- Pregnancy Testing
- Abortion
They also mentioned they offer emergency contraception and pregnancy testing, which is good to know.
After the consultation, they gave me a prescription, and I was on my way. The whole visit took about an hour, maybe a bit more. It felt good to get it done and take control of my health. I left feeling relieved and a bit more in control of things. It’s nice to know there’s a place like this in the neighborhood.
Planned Parenthood – St. Paul Health Center – Vandalia
All in all, it was a pretty smooth experience. I’ll probably head back there for a follow-up in a few months, just to make sure everything’s going smoothly. If you’re in St. Paul and need any of these services, it’s worth checking out. Just remember to call ahead and get all the details before you go.
