Well, well, well, look what we got here. Another one of them days, huh? International Pansexual Day 2024. What’s that all about, I wonder? Sounds like a whole lotta somethin’ I don’t know nothin’ about.
What is this Pansexual Thing, Anyway?
They say it’s May 24th. Pansexual and Panromantic Awareness and Visibility Day. Big words for somethin’ simple, I reckon. Just people lovin’ who they love, ain’t that it? This old gal don’t see the need for all these fancy labels. Love is love, that’s what I always say. But these young folks, they like their labels, I guess. Gotta put everything in a box, don’t they?
Now, in my day, we didn’t have all these names for things. You just liked who you liked, and that was that. Didn’t need no International Pansexual Day to tell you who to love. But times change, I suppose. Got all sorts of days now.
- Back in my day it was simpler.
- Folks just loved who they loved.
- No big deal.
All These Days, I Can’t Keep Up!
There’s a day for everything now. International Asexuality Day, they say is April 6th. Another one is Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, February 7, I hear. Then June, that whole month is somethin’. Pride Month, they call it. Lots of rainbows, I seen that on the TV. Lordy, it’s a lot to keep track of. It is good to know World AIDS Day is December 1st. We should know that kind of stuff.
This Pansexual Day, it’s about seein’ people, I reckon. Makin’ sure they ain’t invisible. That’s what they say, anyway. Visibility. Sounds important, I suppose. Everyone wants to be seen, don’t they? Even us old folks. But when every day is for somethin’, makes your head spin.
Love is Love, That’s All I Know
I don’t know much about this pan-sex-shual stuff. But I know about love. Seen a lot of it in my time. Good love, bad love, all kinds of love. And you know what? It all comes down to the same thing. People just want to be happy. They want someone to care about ’em.
So, if this International Pansexual Day 2024 helps folks find that, then I guess it’s a good thing. Don’t need to understand all the details. Just need to know that love is important. And everyone deserves to find it, however they find it. It is all about LGBTQ Rights, right?
These young folks, they got a lot of fight in ’em. They’re out there marchin’ and protestin’. Reminds me of the old days, fightin’ for what’s right. Stonewall, they call it. Some big ruckus back in ’69. Police and all that.
The World is Changin’
June 30, 2024, they are gonna have a big march in New York City. NYC Pride March, they call it. Sounds like a party. Wish I was young enough to go. I’d wear my best dress and wave a flag. Any flag, don’t matter which one. Just gotta show you care.
The world’s changin’, that’s for sure. Lots of things I don’t understand. But I understand kindness. And I understand love. And that’s enough for me. These LGBTQ folks, they’re just tryin’ to live their lives, same as everyone else.
- World is changing.
- Gotta keep up.
- Love is still love.
This International Pansexual Day 2024, it’s just another day, I reckon. But if it makes someone feel seen, feel loved, then it’s a good day. And that’s all that matters. I hope people can find places to go, LGBTQ+ friendly bars or restaurants, you know? Just have a good time and be themselves.
Just Be Kind, That’s All
Don’t matter what you call it. Pansexual, homosexual, whatever. Just be kind to each other. That’s what my mama always said. Be kind, and the rest will take care of itself.
So, happy International Pansexual Day, I guess. To all the pan-sex-shual folks out there. Hope you have a good one. And to everyone else, just be kind. It ain’t that hard. There are so many LGBTQ Issues. People just need to be nice.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m gonna go have a cup of tea. This old gal needs a rest. All this talk about love and whatnot has worn me out. But it’s good talk. Important talk. Just gotta remember to keep it simple. Love is love. And that’s all you need to know.
