Okay, so, it’s that time of year again – Go Purple Day 2024! I’ve been doing this for a few years now, and it’s always a good time for a good cause. This year, I wanted to go a bit bigger, you know? Make it a real event.
So, first things first, I hit up my contacts. I emailed some local businesses, messaged a bunch of friends on social media, and even made a few phone calls. The idea was to get people involved and spread the word. I figured, the more the merrier, right?
Getting the Word Out
Next up, I started thinking about what we could actually do. I remembered seeing something online about a bake sale or a coffee morning, so I thought, why not both? I also saw some people organizing quizzes and bingo nights, which sounded fun. I’m not much of a party planner, but I figured we could throw a little cocktail party too, just to mix things up.
Then, the real work began. I got a bunch of purple decorations – streamers, balloons, the whole nine yards. I started baking like crazy. I made purple cupcakes, purple cookies, even a purple cake! I know, I know, it sounds like a lot of purple, but hey, it’s Go Purple Day, right?
The Big Day
- Woke up early and set up the bake sale in my front yard.
- Put up the decorations and got the coffee brewing.
- People started showing up, and it was awesome!
- We sold a ton of baked goods and raised a good amount of money.
- Later in the evening, we had the cocktail party, and it was a blast.
By the end of the day, I was exhausted, but it was totally worth it. We had a great time, and most importantly, we raised awareness and some funds for a cause I care about. I even saw a few local politicians wearing purple, which was pretty cool.
So yeah, that was my Go Purple Day 2024. It was a bit hectic, but a ton of fun. And you know what? I’m already thinking about what to do next year. Maybe I’ll try to get the whole neighborhood involved. Who knows!
