Okay, so I decided to write an anniversary letter for my boyfriend. I’ve never really done anything like this before, so it was a bit of a journey. Let me tell you all about it!

Getting Started
First, I just sat down and thought about all the things I wanted to say. It was kind of overwhelming at first! I mean, where do you even begin? I decided to start with a simple brainstorm. I grabbed a notebook and just started jotting down words and phrases that came to mind when I thought about him and our relationship.
- Funny memories
- Things I love about him
- Challenges we’ve overcome
- Hopes for the future
I had words all over the page after this, some are cheesy, others are cute. I just kept going and going, It was a fun process.
Drafting the Letter
Then, I started writing. I didn’t worry too much about making it perfect at first, I just wanted to get my thoughts down. I began with a simple “Dear [Boyfriend’s Name]”, and then just started writing about how much he means to me. I chose a couple specific memories, small, simple but are meaningful for me.
After finished the first draft, I read back what I have done, and tried to revise something and add some details.
Making It Special
Once I had a draft I was pretty happy with, I decided to make it extra special. I didn’t want to just email it or send a text, you know? I think a real letter is way more romantic.

I used a pen that writes really smoothly, and I tried my best to write neatly (which is a challenge for me!). Then I sprayed and put a little heart sticker on it.
The Final Touches
Finally, I read through the letter one last time, just to make sure everything sounded right. Then I put it into my prepared envelop.
Overall, it was a really rewarding experience. It felt great to express my feelings in such a tangible way. I’m no Shakespeare, but I think he’ll appreciate the thought and effort. Definitely give it a try if you’re thinking about writing a love letter!
