Okay, here’s my blog post about my “Andy Biersack Gryffindor Manip” adventure:
So, I got this kinda random idea the other day. I’m a big Black Veil Brides fan, and obviously, I’m a Potterhead. And it just hit me: What if Andy Biersack was in Gryffindor? I needed to see it. So, I decided to make a manipulation, you know, a “manip” for short.
I started by finding a good base picture of Andy. This took a while, gotta admit. I needed one where his pose and the lighting would work with a Gryffindor robe. I scrolled through tons of photos on my computer. Finally found one that I thought I could at lease try first.
Finding the Robes
Next up, the Gryffindor gear. I searched online for images of Gryffindor robes, preferably ones that were already kind of angled and draped. I didn’t want anything too flat or straight-on.I opened some potential images in my computer.
- First I opened the picture of Andy.
- Then I started cutting out the robes from my selected pic, you know, being careful around the edges.
- After that,I use the tools to resize it and try to make it fit.
The real messy part began now. I pasted the robe layer onto the Andy picture. Of course, it didn’t fit perfectly at first, haha. I spent a good chunk of time resizing, rotating, and warping the robe to try and make it look like it was actually on him. This is the part where you really gotta use your imagination and just keep tweaking things.
I also added a Gryffindor tie. Found one that would match with the whole color theme. Same process: cut it out, paste it on, resize, and fiddle with it until it looked halfway decent.
Color matching
The lighting and colors were way off initially. The robe was too bright, and the shadows didn’t match. So, I messed around with the brightness, contrast, and color balance of both layers. This is where you really gotta eyeball it and just keep adjusting until it looks somewhat believable.
Finally, I added a bit of a blurred background. I didn’t want anything distracting, just something to make it look less like a cut-and-paste job. I also added a slight golden glow around Andy, just to give it that magical Gryffindor vibe.
It’s definitely not perfect, but hey, I had fun doing it! It was a cool little creative project, and now I have a picture of Andy Biersack as a Gryffindor student. Mission accomplished, I guess!
