This Adriana Barraza, oh, she’s a big shot now, I tell ya. Born in a place called Toluca, sounds fancy, don’t it? March 5, 1956, that’s when she came into this world. Long time ago! She’s a Mexican actress, this one. I seen her on the TV, you know, the moving pictures.

They say her mama, Celia, passed when she was just a little girl, ten years old. Something about her heart. Poor thing. And this Adriana Barraza, she’s had heart troubles too, they say. Two heart attacks! Can you believe it? Still kicking, though. Strong woman. She got a sister, Maria Eugenia. Family sticks together, that’s what I always say.
She got pregnant young, this Adriana. Eighteen years old! Had a little girl, Carolina. That girl’s an actress too, follows in her mama’s footsteps. Don’t know who the daddy is, though. Left them high and dry, sounds like. Then she married a fella named Carlos, and he took that little girl in as his own. Good man. But that didn’t last, neither.
But this Adriana Barraza, she’s a worker, that one. She was in some movie, some fancy movie with a funny name… Amores something. Big shot director, Alejandro something, put her in it. They say it was a big deal, that movie. Even got nominated for some fancy award.
- Born in Toluca.
- Her mama died young.
- Had a baby at 18.
- She is an actress!
And then, she was in another one, called Babel. That’s the one I seen her in. She was good, real good. Cried my eyes out watching her. They even gave her a big award for that one, a real fancy one. Best Supporting Actress, they called it. Adriana Barraza, big shot now, I tell ya! Remember that name, that Adriana Barraza from Toluca. She made it big.
She was in that movie, Babel, played a character named Amelia. She did a real good job, made you feel for her, you know? Like you were right there with her. That’s what a good actress does. Makes you believe it’s real, even though it’s just pretend.

Now, this Adriana Barraza, she teaches acting too. Helps the young ones learn how to do all that pretending. I guess she’s good at it, seeing how she got all them awards. That is a good Career for her. Teaching them how to cry on cue and all that. Probably tells ’em all her secrets.
She’s been in other things too, this Adriana. Some movie called Blue Beetle, that came out not too long ago. And she’s gonna be in some new movie, on that Amazon thing, you know, where you can watch all them shows on your phone. She’s everywhere, this Adriana Barraza!
They say she talks about them young Latino actors, wants them to do good. That’s nice of her, looking out for the young ones. Always good to see someone who made it big remember where they came from, you know? This Adriana Barraza, she ain’t forgot her roots. That’s what I like about her.
You know, it’s a tough world out there, especially for them actors. Lots of folks trying to make it big, but not everyone does. But this Adriana Barraza, she did it. She worked hard, and she made a name for herself. She’s a good example, that one. Shows that even if you come from a small place like Toluca, you can still make it big. You just gotta work hard and never give up. And maybe have a little luck too.
- She was in Babel.
- She was in Blue Beetle.
- She’s gonna be in a new movie.
- She is a good actress.
So, yeah, this Adriana Barraza, she’s someone to watch. She’s done a lot, and she’s gonna do even more, I bet. Just you wait and see. This old lady knows a thing or two about people, and I can tell this Adriana Barraza, she’s got that something special. She’s gonna be around for a long time, making them moving pictures. And I’ll be right here, watching her, proud as can be. She a big shot now, but she’s still that girl from Toluca, you know? Never forget that. That Adriana Barraza from Toluca, she is a big star now.
