So, I was thinking about making a list of random things to dislike, just for fun. You know, those things that annoy people for no good reason.
Getting Started
First, I grabbed a notebook and pen because, let’s face it, scribbling things down is way more satisfying than typing them out. Then, I started jotting down anything that popped into my head that I or other people I know tend to dislike.
Brainstorming the Dislikes
I began with the obvious stuff, like slow walkers in crowded places and people who chew with their mouths open. Yeah, pretty basic, but they had to be on the list. Then I moved on to slightly more specific things, like the sound of people clipping their nails in public. Ugh, just the thought makes me cringe.
Expanding the List
After the first few, I decided to get a bit more creative. I added things like:
- When the Wi-Fi goes out for like, two seconds, and everything stops working.
- Having to make small talk with people you barely know.
- Opening a bag of chips and it’s mostly air.
- People who don’t use their turn signals. Like, what’s the deal with that?
Categorizing (Sort Of)
I tried to organize the list a little, but it ended up being more chaotic than anything else. I had sections like “Annoying Sounds,” “Social Situations,” and “Just Plain Weird,” but honestly, they all kinda blended together. It’s a mess, but a fun mess.
Reflecting on the Dislikes
Once I had a decent-sized list, I took a step back to look at it. It’s kind of funny how many little things can bug us. And what bugs one person might not even register with another. It’s all pretty subjective and random, which I guess was the whole point.

Sharing with Friends
I showed the list to a couple of friends to see what they thought. They laughed at some of them and totally agreed with others. One friend even added a few of her own, like “people who walk really slow in the supermarket” and “those automated phone systems where you can’t talk to a real person.”
Final Thoughts
In the end, making this list was a fun little exercise. It’s interesting to think about the random things that get on our nerves, and it’s even more fun to share them with others and see if they feel the same way. It’s like, we all have our quirks and pet peeves, and that’s okay.
So yeah, that’s how I spent an afternoon, making a list of random dislikes. Might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but hey, it made me chuckle.
