Okay, so, let me tell you about this little project I’ve been messing around with. It all started when I was scrolling through Instagram, you know, just wasting time, and I kept seeing these pictures of women in, like, the tiniest bikinis ever. I mean, practically nothing there! Someone commented “Scrumpdillyumptious,” and another said “Holy moly.” And it got me thinking, is this really what people want to see?

So, I decided to do a little digging. First, I went down a rabbit hole of pictures, saving a bunch of them. I found pictures that were like the impossible stringy bikinis, and the practically naked one-pieces. I also found a lot of topless bikini babes, topless girls and topless videos.
Then, I started looking for, you know, more normal, everyday women. Women with different body types, different ages. I stumbled upon this place called the Labia Gallery, and it was kind of cool. They had pictures of women who’d gone through menopause, given birth, even some who were on testosterone therapy. It was like, a whole different world compared to the usual Instagram stuff.
After that, I started thinking about how these images make people feel. I mean, on one hand, you’ve got the super glam, airbrushed photos that, let’s be honest, aren’t realistic for most people. I remember seeing those images that changed the way we see female nudity, maybe from 8 years ago, like Demi Lovato’s body positive Vanity Fair shoot. On the other hand, there is also someone like Hailey Clauson, who proves she’s an expert on all things California in a swimsuit. And then you’ve got real, everyday women, who are beautiful in their own way, but don’t always get the same kind of attention.
So, what did I do with all this? Well, I put together a little collection of pictures, a mix of both. I wanted to see how people would react, you know? Would they prefer the “perfect” images, or would they appreciate the more realistic ones? It’s still a work in progress. I wanted to present a more balanced view. It’s all about how we see women, you know? What we consider beautiful, what we think is appropriate. It’s a lot to think about, for sure.
I’ve also been thinking about how to present these images. Right now, they’re just a bunch of files on my computer. Maybe I’ll make a website, or a slideshow, or something. I don’t know yet.

Anyway, that’s my little project. It’s been interesting, and a little weird, but definitely thought-provoking. I learned a lot, mostly about how different people see the female body, and how much our perceptions are shaped by what we see online. It’s a crazy world out there, folks.
- Collected Images: Started by gathering tons of pictures from social media.
- Expanded Research: Looked for diverse representations of women’s bodies.
- Compared and Contrasted: Put together a collection to see how people react to different types of images.
- Contemplated Presentation: Still figuring out the best way to showcase the collection.
It’s been a wild ride, but a good one. Still not sure where I’m going with all this, but it’s definitely got me thinking.
