So, I stumbled upon this idea called “locked ego boost”, and I thought, why not give it a shot? I mean, who doesn’t like a little ego boost, right? But this one came with a twist – it was locked, whatever that means.
I started by, well, just staring at the words “locked ego boost”. I had no clue what to do. I tried to think of what my ego really wanted. Did it want to be told I was awesome? Did it want to be praised for something I did? I was drawing a blank.
First Steps
I decided to take a walk to clear my head. As I was walking, I started noticing things I usually overlook. Like, hey, I’m pretty good at just walking and not tripping over. That’s something, right? It’s a small thing, but it felt like a little win.
Then, I remembered I had fixed that annoying squeaky door at home. It was driving me nuts, and I finally got around to fixing it. I felt a little surge of pride. I did that! I’m handy! It wasn’t a Nobel Prize-winning achievement, but it was something I accomplished.
The Process
I kept this up. Every day, I tried to find something, anything, that I did well or that I was proud of. It could be as simple as making a really good cup of coffee or helping a friend out with something. I started to keep a little journal, nothing fancy, just a few scribbles about these little wins.
- Day 1: Didn’t trip during my walk. Fixed the squeaky door.
- Day 2: Made an awesome breakfast. Helped my neighbor carry groceries.
- Day 3: Finished a book I’d been putting off. Nailed a presentation at work.
It was weird at first. I felt silly writing down such small things. But then, something started to happen. I started to look for these moments. I was actively seeking out things to be proud of, even if they were tiny.

The Result
After a few weeks, I looked back at my journal. It was full of these little things. And you know what? It felt good. It wasn’t like I suddenly thought I was the most amazing person in the world, but I definitely felt better about myself. I realized I was doing a lot of good things, even if they weren’t huge or life-changing.
I guess that’s what this “locked ego boost” thing is all about. It’s not about unlocking some secret to instant confidence. It’s about finding and acknowledging the small victories, the little things that make you, well, you. And it turns out, that’s a pretty good way to give your ego a little boost, without needing anyone else to tell you you’re great.
