Alright, so, my girlfriend, she’s always tired. It’s like, all the time. We used to go out, do stuff, you know? But lately, it’s been tough to even get her off the couch. She just has no energy, and honestly, it was starting to worry me.

First, I tried to figure out what was up with her sleep. She goes to bed pretty late and wakes up early for work. I noticed she was tossing and turning a lot during the night. I asked her about it, and she admitted she wasn’t sleeping well. So, we started working on that.
- We made her bedtime earlier.
- I got her some of those blackout curtains to keep the room dark.
- She started drinking that sleepy time tea before bed.
But even with better sleep, she was still dragging. So I thought, maybe it’s her job. She’s been under a ton of pressure lately, working crazy hours. I talked to her about it, and she agreed. She was stressed and overworked. It makes sense since she’s the one who carries the most of the load at her work.
Trying to Help Her De-Stress
We started brainstorming ways to help her relax. I mean, I can’t quit her job for her, right? But I can help around the house more.
- I started doing more of the cooking and cleaning.
- I ran her a few bubble baths, even though our bathtub is kinda small.
- We started having more chill nights at home.
We would play board games, which was actually fun. Sometimes we invited a mutual friend over for a drink which helped her a lot to relax. Then we watched some dumb reality TV shows. I even tried to give her a massage, but I’m pretty sure I just made her back hurt more. Oops.
It’s been a few weeks now, and things are getting better. She’s still tired sometimes, but not all the time. She seems more like her old self again. We still do not go out very often, but at least she has the energy to hang out with me at home. I learned that sometimes, you just gotta listen and try to help where you can. It’s not about fixing everything, but just being there, you know? And maybe doing the dishes more often.
