Alright, so folks sometimes ask me about different side hustles I’ve tried, or things I’ve explored. Well, there was this one phase, a while back, where I dipped my toes into the whole “selling sexy photos” thing. Sounds glamorous or easy to some, right? Let me tell you, my experience was a bit different from what you might see in flashy headlines.
First off, why even go there? To be honest, it was a mix of curiosity and, yeah, thinking maybe it was some quick cash. You hear stories, you see stuff online, and you think, “Huh, wonder if there’s something to that.” I wasn’t desperate, but I was definitely in an exploratory mood, looking for ways to be a bit more, let’s say, ‘entrepreneurial’ with my time.
So, I started looking into it. The initial steps were all about research.
- What platforms were people using? So many options, each with its own vibe and rules. Some seemed legit, others… not so much.
- What kind of content was “in demand”? This was a rabbit hole, let me tell you. It wasn’t just about snapping a few selfies.
- How did one even handle payments, privacy, all that jazz? That part got complicated fast.
I decided to give it a go, very cautiously. Didn’t invest a ton of money. Used my phone camera, tried to figure out lighting with lamps I already had. The whole setup was pretty amateur hour, looking back. Then came the actual ‘creating’ part. Man, that was awkward. It felt… transactional in a way that just didn’t sit right with my personality. I guess I value my time and peace of mind more. That whole “easy money” idea? Yeah, not so much in my experience.
I didn’t stick with it for long. Maybe a few weeks of active trying. It was an eye-opener, that’s for sure. It made me realize that some things that look appealing from the outside are a whole different story when you’re actually in the trenches. So, if anyone’s thinking it’s a simple path to riches, well, my little experiment would suggest otherwise. There are probably easier ways to make a buck, or at least ways that feel more… worthwhile, you know? That was my little detour, anyway. Moved on to other things pretty quickly after that.
