Deciding to Get the Baltimore County Flag
So last Tuesday I realized my garage wall looked too empty after taking down my old Ravens poster. Figured a Baltimore County flag would look sharp there instead. Didn’t know jack about where to buy local flags though – never done this before.

The Online Search Mess
Started with Google like everyone does. Typed “buy Baltimore County flag” like a dummy. Got flooded with sketchy sites selling everything except what I wanted. One page showed Maryland state flags, another had Baltimore CITY flags – which is totally different! Got mad when a site asked for $50 shipping on a $12 flag. Closed that tab real quick.
Trying Local Spots
Drove around next day:
- First stop: That souvenir shop near the harbor. Clerk looked at me like I spoke Klingon. “County flag? We only got Orioles stuff.”
- Second stop: Big craft store chain. Walked past ten thousand pillows saying “Live Laugh Love”. Found American flags, pirate flags, zero county flags.
- Third stop: Hardware store by my house. Old guy behind counter scratched his head: “Kid, we sell lightbulbs and rat poison.”
The Lucky Break
Was complaining at the coffee shop when the barista overheard. Turns out her cousin works in the county admin building. Gave me this tip: “Go ask at the courthouse.” Thought she was messing with me but tried it anyway last Thursday morning.
Scoring the Flag
Walked into the Towson courthouse security area feeling stupid holding my coffee. The officer at the scanner actually smiled! He pointed upstairs to county clerk’s office. Lady there took me to this dusty cabinet behind her desk. Boom – folded county flags for $22 cash only. No card reader, no website, no shipping. Paid with actual paper money like it’s 1995.
Final Display Move
Taped it to my garage wall same afternoon. It’s crooked as hell and has one weird crease, but damn it’s hanging there. Shoulda started at the county buildings week ago instead of wasting time with stores.
