Okay, so I’ve been meaning to spice things up in the relationship, you know, keep that spark alive. That’s when I stumbled upon this whole “marriage games” thing. Sounded interesting, so I thought, why not give it a shot? Let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride.

First off, I started digging around for ideas. Found some cheesy stuff, some pretty out-there stuff, and a few gems. One that caught my eye was this “poetry for each other” idea. Sounded romantic, right? So, I decided to try it. I wrote this poem, and let me tell you, I’m no Shakespeare. It was probably super corny, but hey, it was from the heart. My partner wrote one too, and it was actually pretty touching. We ended up laughing a lot and feeling all warm and fuzzy inside. Success!
Next, I came across something called “Midnight Taboo.” The name alone got me curious. Turns out, it’s like the adult version of the regular Taboo game. We decided to give it a go one night, and man, it was hilarious! We were laughing so hard, trying to get each other to guess these crazy words without saying the obvious ones. Definitely a fun way to let loose and have a good time.
Then there was this “Love Lingual” thing. It’s basically a card game with all sorts of questions to ask each other. We took it on a road trip, and it was a great way to kill time and actually learn some new things about each other. We even used it around a campfire one night. It was pretty cool, just chilling under the stars, asking each other these questions. It’s not just for road trips though, we’ve used it at home too, just lying in bed, chatting away.
Real game play time
- Overcooked! We tried it. I burnt everything. She was mad at me for one day.
- Portal 2 We are still in chapter 3. My wife told me that I am dumb.
- Stardew Valley We made a farm and named it “Honey Bunny”. It was such a good time.
- Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime This is a cool one. But we argue a lot about who is the pilot.
- A Way Out We escaped from jail!
- It Takes Two. We haven’t started playing yet.
We also tried some classic games like War, Rummy, and Uno. Let me tell you, things got competitive! We were trash-talking each other, trying to psych each other out. It was all in good fun though. We also played “Truth or Dare” and “Never Have I Ever.” That was an eye-opener! Learned some interesting things about my partner that night, that’s for sure.
And you know what’s been really fun? Game nights with other couples. It’s like a big group date, but way more entertaining. We’ve played all sorts of games, from board games to card games to video games. It’s a great way to bond with your partner and your friends at the same time. Plus, there’s always a ton of laughter, which is the best.

So yeah, that’s my journey into the world of marriage games. It’s been a lot of fun, and it’s definitely helped us connect on a deeper level. We’ve laughed together, learned new things about each other, and just generally had a great time. If you’re looking for a way to spice things up in your relationship, I highly recommend giving it a try. You might be surprised at how much fun you have!
