So, I got this idea the other day, figured I’d share some quotes from The Rocky Horror Picture Show. It’s one of those movies, you know? Sticks with you. I hadn’t watched it in a bit, but some lines just popped into my head, and I thought, yeah, others might get a kick out of remembering these too.

Getting Started – The Rewatch
First thing I did was actually sit down and watch the movie again. You kinda have to, right? To get the feel for it, catch the moments. I grabbed a notepad, old school style, ready to jot things down. It’s funny how you remember some lines perfectly, and others sneak up on you. Had the remote handy to pause and rewind a few times, especially during the songs or those fast-talking bits with Frank-N-Furter.
Picking the Gems
Okay, watching it was the easy part. The hard part? Deciding which quotes to actually pick. There are so many good ones! I mean, you’ve got the really iconic stuff everyone knows, like the Time Warp instructions, obviously. But then there are the little lines, the sarcastic comments from the Narrator, or Riff Raff’s weird bits. I didn’t want just the famous ones; I wanted a mix that really captured the weird, wonderful vibe of the whole thing.
My thinking went something like this:
- Does it make me laugh?
- Is it super memorable, even out of context?
- Does it show off a character’s personality well?
- Is it just delightfully strange?
I ended up with way more quotes on my notepad than I planned. Had to trim it down a bit, otherwise, it would’ve been pages long. Focused on the ones that really stood out to me this time around.
Putting it Together
Once I had my list finalized, I just typed them out. Nothing fancy, really. Thought about making images for each quote, you know, with nice backgrounds, but honestly, that felt like too much work for just sharing some lines. Sometimes simple is better. I just wanted the words themselves to be the focus. I arranged them loosely, maybe grouping a couple from the same scene or character together, but didn’t overthink the order.

The Share Out
And yeah, then I put them up here. It was a fun little exercise, actually. A good excuse to rewatch a classic and spend some time thinking about why I enjoy it so much. It’s not deep, just sharing something I dig. Took a couple of hours maybe, from watching to typing. Felt good to just kinda document the process, share the bits I liked. Hope someone else gets a chuckle out of remembering these lines too.
