So, it was Halloween night during my sophomore year, and everyone was getting ready for the big costume parties. Me and my roommates, we were all about making a statement, you know? We didn’t wanna just throw on some lame store-bought costumes. We wanted something…epic. Then, someone, I think it was Jake, had this wild idea: let’s all dress up as different versions of the same thing.
We kicked around a few ideas. Different kinds of fruit? Nah, too boring. Different famous movie villains? Getting closer, but still not quite there. Then, it hit us: different kinds of pizza toppings. Yeah, I know, it sounds weird, but stick with me.
We spent the next few days getting our costumes together. I was pepperoni, which meant I spent hours cutting out red felt circles and gluing them to an old red t-shirt. My buddy Mike was mushroom, which involved a lot of brown fabric and some questionable sewing skills. Sarah went as pineapple, and let me tell you, making a giant pineapple headpiece out of cardboard and yellow paint is way harder than it sounds. We had a green pepper, an onion, and even a black olive in our crew. We were like this weird, walking, talking pizza.
The Big Night

First stop: We hit up the frat parties first. People were dying laughing. We were a huge hit, posing for pictures, dancing like fools, and generally causing a scene. It was a blast.
