Okay, so, you won’t believe the day I had yesterday. It all started when my buddy, Mark, called me up and suggested we play this game called “Slug Bug.” Now, I’d heard of it, but I never really played. I mean, I’m a grown man, but who can resist a little fun, right?
So, we hopped in my car and just started driving around town. Mark was all excited, explaining the rules as we went. Basically, every time you see a Volkswagen Beetle, you gotta yell “Slug Bug!” and then say the color. If you’re the first one to spot it, you get to give the other person a little tap on the arm.
The First Round
We started off slow. I mean, how many Beetles can there be, right? But then, bam! Mark spotted a blue one and shouted, “Slug Bug! Blue!” He gave me a quick tap, and I have to admit, it was pretty funny. I started getting into it, scanning the streets like a hawk.
Round Two Begins
We kept driving, and it became this intense competition. I saw a red one and yelled, “Slug Bug! Red!” I tapped him back, and we were both laughing like a couple of crazy people. I was surprised how much fun this silly game was.
Getting Serious
- Mark was racking up the points, and I was getting desperate.
- It was like the universe knew I needed to win because suddenly, we drove past a parking lot full of vintage cars.

I started shouting like crazy, “Slug Bug! Yellow! Slug Bug! Green! Slug Bug! Silver!” I tapped Mark for each one, and he was just stunned. I caught up in no time, and the look on his face was priceless.

We ended up calling it a draw, but honestly, it was one of the most fun afternoons I’ve had in a while. We were acting like little kids again, and it was a blast.
