Okay, here’s my blog post about “vitaminas prenatales”, written from my personal experience:

So, I started this whole prenatal vitamin journey when I first found out I was pregnant. Honestly, I was a little overwhelmed. There are so many options out there!
Figuring Out What to Take
My first step was, of course, talking to my doctor. I booked an appointment and we chatted about my overall health, my diet, and any concerns I had. She recommended a few different brands and explained what to look for in a good prenatal vitamin. It wasn’t just about popping any old pill.
- Folic Acid: I learned this is super important, especially in the early days, to help prevent birth defects.
- Iron: My doctor emphasized needing extra iron because, well, growing a human takes a lot of it!
- Calcium & Vitamin D: Gotta keep those bones strong, both for me and the little one.
- DHA:This one’s for brain development. I chose to find the one that contained it.
The Trial and Error Phase
I grabbed a bottle of the first brand my doctor suggested. It was a big, kinda chalky pill. And, oh boy, did it make me nauseous. Like, really nauseous. I tried taking it with food, without food, in the morning, at night – you name it, I tried it. No luck.
So, I went back to the store and picked up a different kind. This time, I opted for gummy vitamins. Much easier to swallow, and they tasted pretty good! But… they didn’t have as much iron as the first ones. I felt a bit tired, and my doctor confirmed my iron levels were a little low at my next checkup.
Finding the “Just Right” Vitamin
Third time’s the charm, right? I switched to a smaller, coated pill that was easier to swallow than the first one, but still had all the important stuff. I also started taking it with a small glass of orange juice, because I read that vitamin C helps with iron absorption. And it worked! I avoided the nausea and kept getting all needed nutrition.

Finally, I felt like I had a good routine going. My energy levels were better, my checkups were good, and I felt confident that I was doing the best I could for my baby’s health.
It was a bit of a process, but I finally figured out what worked for me. Don’t be afraid to experiment and find the prenatal vitamin that fits your body and your needs!
