Alright, let me tell you ’bout this little experiment I cooked up last night. Title’s “porn on streaming,” ’cause that’s exactly what I was tryin’ to do. Don’t judge, alright? We all get curious sometimes.

So, first thing I did was fire up my Plex server. I’ve got it set up pretty sweet with all my movies and shows, so I figured, why not try to add some… adult content? I mean, technically, Plex doesn’t really care what kinda video files you throw at it, right?
I started by creating a new library in Plex. I called it, uh, “Late Night Movies” – real subtle, I know. Then, I pointed the library to a folder on my hard drive where I already had a bunch of, ahem, “content” downloaded. This part was easy.
Next came the metadata. See, Plex is all about making your media look nice with posters, descriptions, and all that jazz. But obviously, it wasn’t gonna automatically pull that info for these kinds of files. So, I had to do it manually. I found some images online (don’t ask where), and I wrote some fake descriptions to make it look legit. Took a while, but I got ’em all lookin’ presentable.
Here’s where things got a little tricky. I tried sharing the library with my buddy. He’s got a Plex account, and we share libraries all the time. But when he logged in, he couldn’t see “Late Night Movies.” Turns out, Plex has some built-in parental controls and stuff that block certain types of content from being shared. Bummer.
So, I messed around with the settings for a while. I disabled the parental controls on his account and tried again. Still no luck. After a bunch of googling, I realized that Plex might be detecting the content somehow, even with my fake metadata. Maybe it’s got some kind of image recognition thing going on, I don’t know.

I tried a different approach. Instead of sharing the library directly through Plex, I just gave my buddy the login credentials to my entire Plex server. Risky, I know, but I figured it was worth a shot. He logged in, and BAM! There it was, “Late Night Movies,” in all its glory.
He was able to stream the videos just fine, no problem. So, technically, I succeeded. But it wasn’t exactly the smooth, seamless experience I was hoping for. And, honestly, it felt a little shady. Sharing my entire Plex account just to watch some porn? Not ideal.
In the end, I decided it wasn’t worth the hassle. I deleted the “Late Night Movies” library and told my buddy to just stick to the regular streaming sites. Easier that way, you know?
- Created a new Plex library.
- Added “adult content” to the library.
- Manually added metadata.
- Failed to share the library through normal Plex sharing.
- Shared my entire Plex account instead.
- Success! But not a great solution.
- Deleted the library and gave up.
So, yeah, that was my little adventure in streaming porn. Not a resounding success, but I learned a few things along the way. And hey, at least I got a good story out of it.
