Okay, so, I wanted to try out this whole “petty white girl things” trend, you know? Just for laughs and giggles. I mean, I’m not exactly a white girl, and I’m definitely not petty… most of the time. But hey, it sounded fun, so I thought, why not?
First things first, I needed a plan. I scoured the internet, looking for some inspiration. There were tons of articles and lists about being a “basic” girl, and honestly, some of it was kinda relatable. I mean, who doesn’t love a good coffee shop vibe? Anyway, I picked out a few things that seemed easy enough to try.
My “Petty White Girl” To-Do List
- Visit a fancy coffee shop and order something ridiculously complicated.
- Wear yoga pants all day, even though I have zero plans to work out.
- Use the phrase “literally can’t even” at least five times.
- Take a selfie with a dog – preferably not mine.
- Listen to some pop music that I’d normally never admit to liking.
So, I started with the coffee shop. I went to this cute little place downtown, and I ordered a “triple-shot, non-fat, extra-hot, vanilla latte with a sprinkle of cinnamon and a dollop of whipped cream.” I felt a little ridiculous, but the barista didn’t even bat an eye. Maybe I’m a natural?
Next up, the yoga pants. I slipped into my comfiest pair and honestly, I didn’t take them off for the rest of the day. They’re just so darn comfortable! I did some errands, lounged around the house, and even met a friend for lunch – all in my trusty yoga pants.
Saying “literally can’t even” was surprisingly easy. It just kind of slipped out, especially when I was talking to my friends. We were gossiping about some reality TV show, and the drama was just too much. “Literally can’t even” became my go-to phrase.
The dog selfie was a bit trickier. I didn’t want to just grab a random dog off the street. Luckily, my neighbor has the cutest golden retriever, and they were totally cool with me snapping a quick pic. Dog selfie – check!
Finally, the music. I scrolled through some Top 40 playlists and landed on a song that was so catchy, I couldn’t help but bop my head along. I might have even sung along a little… in the privacy of my own home, of course.
So, there you have it. My day as a “petty white girl.” It was actually pretty fun, and I learned that it’s okay to embrace the things that make you happy, even if they’re a little “basic.” And you know what? I might just keep wearing those yoga pants. They’re that comfy. I mean, everyone likes comfortable clothes and traveling. I probably just look like everyone else.
