Okay, so yesterday I was browsing X, and you won’t believe what I stumbled upon – this group called “One Million Moms.” I mean, the name itself got me curious. What’s this all about? One million moms doing what exactly? They sounded quite serious and a little bit scary, so I decided to do some digging.

First, I checked out their posts on X. They were all up in arms about this new “Wicked” movie. Apparently, they think it’s some kind of evil plot to brainwash kids. I was like, “Seriously? It’s a musical.” I mean, I haven’t even seen it yet, but come on, it’s based on a Broadway show! So, naturally, I scrolled through their posts, reading comments, getting a feel for what other people were saying. It seemed like people have different opinions toward their statements. They seem to be a group with very strong opinion.
Next, I Googled them. Turns out, they’re a conservative group, part of the American Family Association, or something like that. They’ve been around for a while, and they’re known for starting petitions against all sorts of things they deem “inappropriate” for families. This “Wicked” thing was just their latest target. They really don’t like the idea of it promoting the LGBTQ agenda to kids, whatever that means.
Then, I saw that Kristin Chenoweth, the original Glinda from the Broadway show, had responded to them. She’s a legend, by the way. She basically told them off, in a very classy way, of course. She’s a big supporter of the LGBTQ community, and she wasn’t having any of their nonsense. That made me chuckle. It is nice to see someone stand up to these people.
- Read through the “One Million Moms” posts on X to see what the fuss was about.
- Searched for them on Google to get some background information.
- Looked up Kristin Chenoweth’s response to see what she had to say.
- Browsed through articles and social media reactions to get a sense of the overall controversy.
Here’s what I did:
Honestly, the whole thing just made me roll my eyes. These people are so out of touch. The only thing their campaign has done is getting more people know this movie and want to watch it. It is clear that “One Million Moms” does not represent the opinions of all mothers, let alone one million of them. I’m definitely going to watch “Wicked” when it comes out, just to spite them, maybe. Haha, just kidding… unless?
Anyway, that was my little adventure on X yesterday. It’s crazy what you can find on the internet these days. It is interesting to see how people react to different social issues and how celebrities use their platform to speak out. Has anyone else heard about this? What do you guys think?
