Alright, so I needed to get some stuff checked out, you know, just routine things you gotta do sometimes. Heard about the Planned Parenthood spot over in Georgetown, figured I’d give it a shot.

First thing was figuring out how to even get an appointment. Spent a bit of time trying to find the right number, then made the call. The person on the phone was pretty straightforward, asked what I needed, and found a slot for me. Wasn’t too far out, which was good.
Getting There and The Wait
So the day comes, and I head over. Finding the actual place wasn’t too bad. Went inside, and it was, well, a clinic waiting room. Kinda what you’d expect. Not super fancy, but clean enough. There were a few other people waiting around, keeping to themselves mostly.
Checked in at the front desk. Had to fill out some papers, standard procedure, you know the drill. Always feels like a bit of a hassle, but gotta do it. Handed them back and then just kinda sat and waited. It wasn’t a super long wait, maybe 20 minutes or so? I just scrolled through my phone.
The Appointment Itself
Then they called my name. A nurse took me back to a small room. She was nice, asked some basic questions, took my vitals. Pretty standard stuff. She explained what would happen next.
Then the main person came in, the clinician or doctor, not sure their exact title. We talked about why I was there. They listened, which was good. Didn’t feel rushed. Asked me questions, I asked them questions. They explained things in a way that made sense, no confusing big words.

- Talked through options: They laid out what the next steps could be.
- Answered my questions: Didn’t brush anything off.
- Did the check-up/procedure: Whatever it was I was there for, they did it efficiently.
It wasn’t exactly fun, I mean, who likes going to these things? But they were professional about it. Made sure I understood everything before I left the room.
Wrapping Up
After that, it was pretty much done. Went back out, settled anything that needed settling at the front desk (if there was a co-pay or whatever, depending on your situation). They told me if I needed to follow up or expect any results.
And that was that. Walked out, back to my day. Overall, it was a pretty straightforward process. Went in, got seen, got the info or service I needed, and left. Did the job it needed to do.
