So, today I ran into a little hiccup with my Monument Studio setup. I was all set to create a new playlist, you know, to organize my tunes just the way I like it. But for some reason, it just wouldn’t let me. It was weird, no matter what I did, I just couldn’t make a new playlist.
First, I tried the usual. I went into the app and looked for the “Create a new playlist” button. It was there, I clicked it, but then nothing. There was supposed to be a “Create” button to finalize it, but it was nowhere to be found. I clicked around, checked all the menus, but nope, no dice.
Then I thought, maybe it’s just a temporary glitch. So, I tried to select a song and add it to a new playlist from there. I clicked the little square in the corner of the video, and then the “Add to” box in the top right corner appeared. I saw the options for “Play queue” and “New playlist.” I clicked “New playlist,” typed in a name, but again, no “Create” button to actually make the playlist.

After that, I figured maybe I should try a different device. So I grabbed my phone, opened the app, and guess what? I could make a playlist from there! It was a relief, but also kind of annoying. I mean, I wanted to do it on my computer. Anyway, I made a playlist on my phone, and then I went back to my computer to see if I could add songs to it. And that worked! I could add songs to the playlist I made on my phone, but I still couldn’t create a new one directly on the computer.

I also noticed that if you set the filter to “Playlists” and the sort order to “Custom order,” you can drag and drop playlists around. But that didn’t help me create a new one, it just let me rearrange the ones I already had. Which is kind of cool, but not what I needed at the moment.
What I Learned
So, from this little adventure, I learned that sometimes you gotta try different ways to get things done. I still don’t know why I couldn’t create a new playlist directly on my computer, but at least I found a workaround by using my phone. It’s not ideal, but hey, it worked. And it made me realize how much we rely on these features to manage our stuff. It’s pretty cool that we can even do this kind of thing, you know? Organizing our music, creating playlists, it’s all part of the fun of having a digital music library.
I guess the takeaway here is, don’t give up if something doesn’t work the way you expect it to. There’s usually another way to do it, even if it’s a bit roundabout. And sometimes, these little challenges teach us more about how things work and make us appreciate the technology we have.
