Okay, so the other day I was messing around with car photos, you know, just for fun. I got this idea to try and change the color of a Kia Soul to lime green. Here’s how it all went down.
Finding the Right Picture
First things first, I needed a good picture of a Kia Soul. I didn’t want anything too fancy, just a clear shot of the car from a decent angle. I scrolled through a bunch of images online and finally found one that would work. It was a plain white Kia Soul, which was perfect because it’s way easier to change the color of a light-colored car.
Getting to Work
Next, I opened up the image in my go-to editing program. I’m no expert, mind you, but I know my way around the basics. I used the selection tool – you know, the one that lets you outline stuff – to carefully select the body of the car. I took my time with this because I didn’t want to accidentally color the windows or tires lime green too!
Making it Lime Green
Once I had the car body all selected, I went to the color adjustment settings. There are a few ways to do this, but I usually play with the hue and saturation sliders. I shifted the hue towards green and then cranked up the saturation until I got that bright, almost glowing lime green I was after. It took a bit of fiddling to get it just right – not too yellow, not too dark.
Cleaning Up
After I was happy with the main color, I zoomed in super close to check for any spots I might have missed. Sure enough, there were a few little areas around the edges where the original white was still peeking through. So, I grabbed a small brush tool and carefully painted over those bits with the same lime green color. This part is always a bit tedious, but it makes a big difference in the end.
The Final Result
Finally, I stepped back and took a look at the whole picture. The Kia Soul was now a vibrant lime green! It looked pretty cool, if I do say so myself. It’s amazing how much you can change with just a few simple edits. I saved the new picture and, yeah, that was pretty much it. A fun little experiment!
