Alright, so the other day I decided to dive into the world of “bad cosplay.” I’ve seen those hilarious pictures online, you know, the ones where people use everyday objects to recreate iconic characters. It looked like a fun, low-pressure way to get a little creative, so I thought, “Why not?”
First, I needed a character. I didn’t want anything too complicated, nothing that required, like, actual sewing skills or crafting expertise. I’m all about that “so bad it’s good” vibe, remember? I settled on a really, simple anime character. Easy enough, right?
Next came the “materials.” I raided my apartment, looking for anything and everything that could vaguely resemble the character. This is where it gets fun. For a prop, I found an old plastic, using tape to keep it together. I have no shame.
The “Process”
There was no real process, let’s be honest. It was more like a series of increasingly questionable decisions.
- Step 1: I find the clothes which looks most like the character.
- Step 2: I started to take a photo.
- Step 3: That’s it, that is bad cosplay!
The final result? Well, it was definitely “bad.” There was no mistaking that. But, it was also surprisingly fun. I laughed so hard at myself in the mirror, and that’s really the point, isn’t it? It’s about not taking yourself too seriously and just embracing the silliness.
I ended up posting a picture online, and you know what? People loved it! It wasn’t about looking perfect; it was about the effort and the humor. I even got some comments from people saying it inspired them to try their own bad cosplay.

So, yeah, that’s my bad cosplay adventure. It was cheap, it was ridiculous, and it was a blast. Would I do it again? Absolutely. In fact, I’m already brainstorming my next “masterpiece.” Maybe I’ll even challenge some friends to join me. The worse, the better, right?
