Alright, so this whole topic comes up a lot, doesn’t it? People wondering if choking the chicken once a day is gonna mess them up somehow. Instead of just reading stuff online, I decided to actually pay attention to my own body and see what was what. This wasn’t some lab experiment, just me keeping track for a bit.

My Little Experiment
So, I basically decided, okay, for a solid month or maybe six weeks, I’m gonna make sure I whack it once every day. Like clockwork. Usually did it before bed, seemed like the easiest time to be consistent. Before this, it was more random, you know, whenever the mood struck, maybe a few times a week, sometimes more, sometimes less.
Week 1: Honestly? Didn’t notice much difference. Felt pretty normal. Maybe slightly easier to fall asleep some nights, but could have been placebo, who knows. No big changes in energy or mood.
Week 2-3: This is where I started noticing little things. Felt a bit… flatter? Like my general energy level wasn’t quite as high, especially hitting that mid-afternoon slump. It wasn’t drastic, but it was there. My motivation to hit the gym felt a tiny bit lower too.
Week 4-6: Yeah, by this point, I was kinda feeling drained more often. Not exhausted, but just… less spark. Focus felt a bit scattered sometimes. Sex drive with my partner didn’t really change much, maybe slightly less intense interest some days, but hard to say for sure. The main thing was that general feeling of being slightly depleted.
What I Reckon Happened
Look, I’m no doctor. This was just my experience. Here’s what I kinda figured out for myself:

- Energy Drain: For me, doing it every single day seemed to consistently take a small chunk out of my overall energy. It wasn’t huge each time, but daily, it added up.
- Mental Fog?: Maybe tied to the energy thing, but my head just didn’t feel as clear as usual towards the end of the experiment.
- Routine vs. Desire: Making it a daily chore kinda took the fun out of it too. Felt less like something enjoyable and more like ticking a box.
After those six weeks, I just stopped the daily routine and went back to whenever I felt like it. Pretty quickly, within a week or so, I felt that energy level come back up to normal. That slight foggy feeling cleared out too.
So, is it “bad”? I dunno if ‘bad’ is the right word. For me, doing it daily felt like a net negative. It just seemed to cost more energy than it was worth on a consistent, everyday basis. But hey, everyone’s body is different. Some guys might feel totally fine, might even feel better doing it daily. Stress relief, better sleep, whatever. You gotta listen to your own system. For me, less is definitely more. Finding that balance that works for you is the key, I think. Trying it out and just paying attention, like I did, is probably the best way to figure out your own sweet spot.
