Okay, so the other day, my partner and I tried out some of those trust-building exercises you see floating around online. We figured, why not? Our relationship’s pretty solid, but a little extra trust never hurts, right?

Soul Gazing
First up, we did this thing called “soul gazing.” Sounds kinda cheesy, I know, but it was actually pretty intense. We just sat there, looking into each other’s eyes for a few minutes. No talking, no phones, just us.
- It was awkward at first, I’m not gonna lie. We both started giggling like idiots.
- But then, something shifted. It felt like we were really seeing each other, you know?
- Like, beyond the surface-level stuff. I felt surprisingly vulnerable, but also super connected to him.
Blindfold Test
Next, we tried a blindfold test. Basically, one person gets blindfolded, and the other person guides them around.
- I went first, blindfolded myself with a scarf, and my partner had to lead me through our apartment.
- Honestly, it was a bit nerve-wracking. I kept bumping into things, even though he was trying his best to guide me.
- But it was also kinda fun, in a weird way. I had to really trust that he wouldn’t let me walk into a wall or something.
Sharing Vulnerabilities
After that, we decided to share some vulnerabilities with each other. This one was the toughest, for sure.
- We took turns talking about our fears, insecurities, and past experiences that have shaped us.
- It was tough to open up like that, but it felt good to get things off my chest.
- And hearing him share his vulnerabilities made me feel closer to him. It’s like, we were letting each other in on our deepest secrets.
All in all, it was a pretty interesting experience. We laughed, we got a little emotional, and we definitely felt more connected afterward. I wouldn’t say these exercises magically transformed our relationship overnight, but they did give us a chance to strengthen our bond and build even more trust. I’d recommend giving them a try, even if you think your relationship is already rock-solid. You might be surprised at what you discover about each other!
