So I saw this “Thank You Brother” meme all over social media and thought, why not make my own? Had some free time yesterday and decided to jump in. Here’s exactly what I did step by step.
Getting Started
First I grabbed my phone and took a selfie in my messy living room. Didn’t even bother cleaning up – just stood against the plain wall for a simple background. Made sure to put on my most serious “guy being thankful” face, you know the vibe.
Next I opened this free meme maker app I downloaded. Scrolled through font options and picked that classic bold white one with black outline – same as the original meme. Took me like five minutes to figure out how to move the text boxes around properly.
Figuring Out The Text
For the top text I wrote: “WHEN MY BROTHER SHARES HIS FRIES”. Bottom text said: “THANK YOU BROTHER”. But dang, the original meme uses all caps and I forgot at first! Had to delete and retype everything in uppercase.
Spent ages adjusting the text position. Moved the top text too high initially – covered half my forehead. Bottom text kept floating near my chin making it look weird. Finally centered them just above and below my chest.
Adding Extra Touches
Remembered the original has those thick black borders. Found the “border” option hidden under advanced settings. Chose medium thickness but it looked too thin. Maxed it out to thicc mode – that did the trick.
Almost forgot the most important part! Added the little floating heart symbol on the side. Tried red but it clashed, settled for basic white. Resized it like five times – kept making it too big so it distracted from the whole thing.
Final Result
Hit save and boom! Got my personalized “Thank You Brother” meme. Showed my actual brother and he laughed then asked why I used such an unflattering selfie. Mission accomplished though – took about 20 minutes total once I got the hang of the app. Next time I’ll probably try different text situations just for fun!
